WHAT IS: SIAMANT@ ?

SIAMANT^@ is the trademark for a ceramic functional material.

SIAMANT^@ has been developed for the encapsulation of radioactive and toxic materials.

The basic material is pressureless sintered silicon carbide SSiC for the container wall. A specially designed layer at the inner surface protects the SSiC against corrosive attacks from inside/ and reduces diffusion additionally.

The composition of the SSiC for the wall is tailored to the specific application.
In the case of fuel encapsulation the SICANA^@-type is used e.g..
