SICANA@ – BORON-FREE SSiC

Standard SSiC uses boron as sintering additive – a horrible imagination for a reactor physicist considering the neutron economy!

Therefore we started the challenging task to develop a boron-free SSiC as basic material for the hollow bodies.

The result is a composition with the trademark SICANA@ - a specially tailored sintered silicon carbide for advanced nuclear in-core applications.

Some of the general properties are listed here.
